Yard Manager - Marine Works

Adexen is recruiting a Yard Manager to oversee large-scale marine and civil construction operations at a major port rehabilitation project in Lagos, Nigeria.

Who can apply

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in heavy construction, marine works, infrastructure, mining, military engineering or large industrial operations.
• Proven experience managing large construction yards, equipment fleets, and operational bases.
• Strong knowledge of concrete batching plants, precast production, and heavy lifting operations.
• Extensive experience managing heavy equipment including cranes, excavators, loaders, trucks, and specialized construction machinery.
• Demonstrated experience working in Africa within complex operational environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing workforces exceeding 300 personnel.
• Experience in remote or challenging operational environments across Africa.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage all yard operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
• Oversee concrete batching plants and precast production to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Manage a large fleet of construction equipment, lifting machinery, trucks, and operational vehicles.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, monitor inventory, and optimize yard layouts.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards and local regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, operators, mechanics, and support personnel.
