Regional Lead – Africa

The Global Methane Hub is seeking a Regional Lead for Africa to serve as its principal ambassador and strategic advisor on methane mitigation across the continent.

Who can apply

• Candidates with 8+ years of progressive experience in stakeholder engagement, strategy, or public affairs, preferably in climate, environment, energy, or adjacent fields in Africa.
• Demonstrated experience in high-level representation in policy dialogues, conferences, and media.
• Experience in strategy development and execution, including resource allocation.
• Grant-making or seed-funding experience is desired.
• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public policy, international relations, or a related field.

What you'll do

• Serve as GMH’s principal representative for methane mitigation initiatives across Africa.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and private sector partners.
• Represent GMH in high-level discussions, conferences, and meetings with local and global stakeholders.
• Contribute to GMH’s global engagement strategy with regional perspectives.
• Monitor regional methane policy developments and provide strategic advice to GMH leadership.
• Design and implement initiatives to strengthen the methane mitigation ecosystem in Africa.
• Deploy seed grants and convene workshops to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Provide regular updates and reports to GMH leadership and donors on regional impact.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and manage regional operational budgets.
