ARNTD Small Grants Program VIII 2026

The African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (ARNTD) and the Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (COR-NTD) invite applications for the eighth Small Grants Program (SGP VIII), supporting implementation research aligned with the WHO 2030 NTD Roadmap.

What it offers

• Early-Career grants: up to USD 30,000 – 4 awards
• Mid-Career grants: up to USD 65,000 – 2 awards

Who can apply

• Outstanding researchers and academics based in African research institutions or universities
• Early-career grants target researchers and PhD students at the early phase of their research career
• Mid-career grants target previous SGP grantees (SGP I–VI) who have successfully completed and demonstrated excellence in prior SGP research
• Applicants must demonstrate alignment with their country’s NTD program interests and potential institutional and individual capacity-building impact
• Applications from researchers who have taken career breaks due to health conditions and/or family demands are encouraged

How to apply

• Applications accepted in English, French, and Portuguese
• Shortlisted applicants must submit full proposals and additional documentation in English only to be eligible for the award

• Funded by the UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) through its Global Research and Technology Development portfolio
