Fresh Life’s Graduate Trainee programme offers a hands-on entry point into fundraising and business development within a fast-growing sanitation enterprise serving four East and Southern African cities.

What it offers

• Practical experience in fundraising, grant management, and resource mobilization.
• Exposure to proposal development, donor engagement, and impact reporting.

Who can apply

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, community development, sanitation, social sciences, or a related field.
• Graduated within the last two years.
• Previous internship or volunteer experience in fundraising, business development, proposal writing, or nonprofit work is an added advantage.
• Excellent external communication and writing skills.
• Highly organized team player with a proactive and flexible work style.
• Demonstrated understanding of or experience in international development or the social sector.
• Knowledge of the sanitation sector is a plus.

What you'll do

• Monitor funders’ trends and contribute to prioritization of funding opportunities.
• Generate leads, identify co-funding partners, analyze opportunities, and develop internal stakeholder buy-in.
• Develop narrative, budgets, log frames and theory of change for funding applications.
• Prepare narrative reporting and liaise with partners to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Organize and lead site visits with funders.
• Speak on behalf of the organization to funders and visitors.
• Support other business development tasks as required.
