Quidax is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend - Java) in Lagos, Nigeria to design, build, and operate core backend services, shape technical direction, and mentor engineers.

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, and Kafka.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident management skills.

What you'll do

• Within first 90 days: Deliver production-ready backend features, own backend services, contribute to architecture discussions, and improve reliability or performance.
• Within first 6 months: Lead design and implementation of complex backend systems, drive engineering quality improvements, and mentor engineers.
• Own services from design to production support, improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance, and investigate production incidents.
• Participate in architecture reviews, shape API and distributed systems design, and contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards.
