Seriti is recruiting a Section Mining Manager to lead production, safety, and compliance in its Vereeniging operations.

Who can apply

• Qualification: Eng, BTech, Advanced Diploma, B Eng, or National Diploma in Coal Mining Engineering
• Certification: Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (Coal) – completed
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as Mine Overseer in a production environment
• Other: Valid driver’s licence; in possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
• Advantageous: Mine Overseer certificate; Postgraduate Degree (Honours/MBA); Coaching and Mentoring; S3 ORMP

What you'll do

• Provide leadership to achieve HSE, cost and volume performance
• Formulate and own short- and medium-term production plans
• Input to Life-of-Mine objectives and budget, driving performance
• Identify, build, and develop production talent and capability
• Direct and coordinate production processes: topsoil stripping, drilling and blasting, dragline exposure, truck and shovel operations, coal load and haul, pit dewatering, rehabilitation
• Ensure compliance with mining, environmental, and HSE legislation
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships; implement remedial actions
• Establish and implement effective risk management processes
