What you'll do

• Service, identify and repair faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems such as electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition, Immobilizer and air conditioning.
• Install electrical equipment such as gauges, lighting, alternators and starter motors in vehicles; install electrically operated accessories.
• Diagnose & troubleshoot electrical faults of the plant & equipment; test, recondition and replace faulty alternators, starter motors and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries.
• Repair or replace faulty ignition, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps and switches.
• Prioritize and plan for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections as required and maintain records; follow and implement Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policy.
• Respond to emergencies and breakdowns as required.
• Read and understand electrical drawings from service manuals.
• Keep all relevant tools and equipment in good order and available at all times to perform the task.
