What it offers

• Funding for higher education in critical, scarce skills fields:
  • BSc/B.Eng. Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current)
  • BSc/B.Eng. Electronic/Engineering
  • Bachelor Of Engineering: Technology
  • B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics)
  • Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Technology
• Bursaries are awarded for one year of study at a time.

Who can apply

• South African citizens aged 18–25.
• Unemployed and not receiving other funding (e.g., other bursaries or NSFAS).
• Grade 12 applicants:
  • English – Level 6 and above
  • Pure Maths – Level 6 and above
  • Physical Science – Level 6 and above
• Tertiary students:
  • Minimum 65% average in the year of application.
  • Studying or accepted to study full-time in one of the specified fields.
  • Must be accepted by a locally recognized training institution.

  • ID document
  • Matric certificate (Grade 11 results and Grade 12 trial marks available Aug/Sept 2025) or full tertiary academic record
