Join Africa’s next generation of women leaders at the AWLN 8th Intergenerational Retreat (IGR 2026), a fully funded leadership forum in Libreville, Gabon, designed to build skills, networks and collective action for Africa’s transformation.

Who can apply

• Young African women leaders residing on the continent or in the diaspora
• Aged 18–45
• Able to demonstrate measurable or recognized impact in their community
• Engaged in one of AWLN’s six pillars:
  • Peace and security
  • Governance and political participation
  • Financial inclusion, economic development, natural resources and mining
  • Agriculture, rural economy and land
  • Social mobilization
  • Youth and emerging leaders

What you'll do

• Take part in all sessions, discussions and collaborative activities
• Share knowledge, experiences and perspectives to enrich intergenerational dialogue
• Build strong ties and foster cross-country, cross-sector and cross-generational collaboration
• Act as AWLN ambassadors by promoting its values, mission and initiatives
• Turn learning into concrete actions by launching or strengthening women’s leadership and gender equality initiatives after the Retreat
• Continue contributing to the AWLN network through sustained engagement, mentoring, knowledge sharing and collaboration beyond the event
