Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Advisor

MSF is seeking a Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights Advisor to provide strategic and technical leadership across Southern Africa, ensuring high-quality, rights-based SRH services—including SGBV and safe abortion care—are integrated into MSF programs.

What it offers

• 3-year renewable, full-time contract starting 01 October 2026
• Role based in Nairobi (Kenya) or Johannesburg (South Africa), with over 50% travel to country programs

Who can apply

• Registered Midwife or Medical Doctor specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Minimum five years’ relevant experience in MSF or similar humanitarian organisations
• Proven experience in comprehensive SGBV care and service management
• Fluency in spoken and written English (French is an advantage)
• ALSO instructor certificate (asset)

What you'll do

• Lead SRH&R strategy development, implementation, and monitoring aligned with MSF Ubuntu priorities
• Provide technical guidance on SRH, SGBV, and safe abortion care to country programs
• Strengthen quality of care through structured processes (e.g., MPDSR, mortality reviews)
• Represent MSF in SRH/SGBV platforms, technical working groups, and partnerships
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and training of midwives and program teams
• Conduct program visits and contribute to operational research and advocacy
