The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Pretoria supports African students facing socio-economic challenges who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

What it offers

• Financial support for undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria.

Who can apply

• African youths facing significant socio-economic challenges, including refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and individuals with disabilities.
• Undergraduate and Honours/Masters students who have applied and been accepted to the University of Pretoria.
• Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities and a commitment to community service through involvement in projects, school activities, or religious organizations.
• Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic performance.

How to apply

1. Apply to the University of Pretoria first to initiate the application process.
2. Download and complete the hard copy of the relevant application form:
   • Undergraduate application form
   • Postgraduate application form
3. Submit your application electronically to [email protected].
4. Include all required supporting documentation with your submission.
5. After submission, your application will undergo a review process.
6. If shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.
