Country Director

Accion Contra El Hambre España is seeking a Country Director to lead its mission in Sudan for 12 months, starting 02-Aug-2026.

Who can apply

• Minimum 8 years in International NGO management/coordination (Country Director level)
• Knowledge of key donors of the sector
• Strong networking and representational skills
• Emergency Response coordination
• Strategic and operational planning
• Team management and leadership
• Desirable: Knowledge of AAH technical areas (WaSH, FSL, Nut, DRR); Security management in sensitive contexts
• Valuable: Experience in Sudan or with Action Against Hunger network
• Experience in identification, negotiation and management of development and emergency response projects
• Command of issues related to the humanitarian system and International cooperation
• Previous Experience as Country Director in similar contexts and organizations
• High skills of representation and negotiation with donors and stakeholders
• High skills in constructing a medium-term strategy, defining and following the operation planning and response to emergency situations
• Adaptability to political and cultural contexts and capacity of managing stress and working under pressure

What you'll do

• Ensure the correct management of resources to achieve strategic objectives
• Maintain quality and relevance of actions under the organization’s mandate
• Motivate the team, anticipate and manage conflicts, and encourage innovative focus
• Supervise the coordination team and define the training strategy and professional development
• Promote and supervise the implementation of the charter of principles, ethics code, and anti-fraud politics
• Represent Action Against Hunger before donors, authorities, international organizations, other NGOs, private sector, and relevant institutions
• Ensure the financial viability of the mission and efficient management of resources
• Direct the implementation of the fundraising strategy in coordination with HQ
• Promote technical innovative focus and foster best practices and their replicability
• Achieve the annual objectives of the mission
